Do you get better skill ups/factions/presence by beating harder NPC's?

If not, what the point when you can pick on skill 50 mobs all day long for the same effect.

No. But picking on a 50 skill NPC all day would be very ineffective, as your chance of skilling up versus them gets lower as you go higher in skill.

I'm undecided on this issue.

At 62 Diplomacy, if I tackle 50's with a strategy that works, I can get Faction and Prestige up out of the ashes from all my initial losses. True, the Diplomacy Skill increases slow down a lot, but it depends on what you're trying to improve. It takes me lots longer to seek out the fewer number of 75's in town, so I get fewer parleys accomplished in a given time frame. If I can do, say, 20 parleys in an hour with level 50 opponents versus 12 parleys an hour with level 75 opponents, what have I lost?

Sure wish I could find a broker to unload all those Hearsays and Rumors for something useful. Pffft.

Do you skill up presence as well when you win?

You can skill up presence, yes...its based on type of npc you are parleying with

I think that skillups just happen. I don't believe that its lvl vs. lvl based.

I've gotten skillups on lvl 50 NPC's as well as lvl 150 NPC's.

What level are you?

Just ding'd up to 101.

I've moved to crafting. Its a little less frustrating to me atm even with the complication issue.
