Future of Diplomacy
I have only begun diplomacy with my half elf and my dark elf. I have not seen anything talking about what diplomacy will do later on. I currently love diplomacy as it is, but I can see marvelous things coming from it.
Could someone please point me to how diplomacy functions at higher levels. My thoughts on what would be really cool ... Allow which cards we play to effect the outcome of a conversation. Rather than simply completing the convo, maybe we could effect what information we are given? I kinda expected this, but havent experienced it yet and havent see anywhere that this is planned. If it is already in effect at some point, please direct me to where I can find out more information on it. Also, group diplomacy? Is this a current feature at higher levels? Will we be able to team up on a diplomacy quest with our friends utilizing our different racial emotions to complete a task?

Re: Future of Diplomacy
Check out the wikki. Theres a pretty good write up on diplomacy. Once you make it past your beginning stage you will be able to start Civic Diplomacy which a group can do. Basically you all concentrate on a certain type of parley to activate city buffs. You will get varuious rewards.

I can't suggest an alternative right now, however. I'm currently so irked by the cheating -- I'm sorry, "adapting" NPCs who read your deck as you make it that I can barely think straight. Before this change, you could eventually build a deck to win. Now that they adapt every time you change yours, it's largely a question of lucking onto the right combo and refresh. I'm rapidly losing my diplo enthusiasm - a week ago I loved it. Now, I'm just mad that whatever I do, they do better because they can read my mind. Or so it seems. ![]()

Re: Future of Diplomacy
Because their skill is waaay higher than yours - for every 5 points of difference, they (or you if yours is higher) need one less point to win. If you're trying to do civic dip, try and find some of the lower-ranked NPCs to get started with. :-)

Re: Future of Diplomacy
For the really, really high level stuff, check out the VGTact FAQ.
http://www.vgtact.com/faq.php Especially sections 3.5, which I give myself permission to quote here. Quote:
