Re: Fancy Pants for the win!
Back to the topic ...
I'm surprised no one else has posted on this now the NDA is lifted. You have different inventories and different containers available for each sphere, as well as you "common" bags. You set them up like wardrobes, and equip the appropriate gear for each sphere on the corresponding character tab for the sphere. Your wardrobe switches automatically. Start harvesting, you switch to harvesting gear, enter a parley, your fancy pants go on by themselves. You can also switch them manually, but any action outside the sphere you switched to will override this and put that particular wardrobe on. In the middle of a dungeon and see a lode of mithril (no idea if that is in the game, just an example) to mine? Just mine it, you will be wearing your harvesting gear, and the moment you stop to defend yourself, your adventuring gear will be equipped.

Re: Fancy Pants for the win!
Aye. There is a weight limit to what you can equip (not carry in your inventory, as I understand it, but actually have equipped), and diplomacy, crafting and harvesting gear use the same % point system as other equipped items, but it will switch out automatically. Which I'm not wild about, but it's better than tedious re-equipping, and having a button to push to switch out all your equipment on a moments notice seems silly.

Re: Fancy Pants for the win!
I think this concept is fantastic. In games like WoW there were "Auto-Equip" mods you needed to have in order for something like that to take place. Either that or make a macro for individual items to be swapped for certain circumstances. But here, there's no need! Sigil pre-coded all of this stuff with the sense of 'seamless gameplay' in mind, so you never have to go rummaging through your bag to find those Fancy Pants... Start up that parley and voila!

Re: Fancy Pants for the win!
I call it "sphere transmogrification". It's unrealistic, lazy and almost entirely out of my control. For some reason, I could never ride on a horse in my fancy diplomacy pants. Has that been fixed yet? I just wanted to be able to stay in my fancy skill 400 diplomacy all the time, instead of being forced into my ugly level 5 adventuring clothing every time I rode or fought. Why can't I just hit people with my sword, without changing my clothes! I want to set myself free...enough with these restrictions....argh!
/endrant Now, what would be realistic is for items to affect multiple spheres, such as being able to use your wood-axe as a weapon, your paladin cuirass as diplomacy clothing (with clergy presence) etc.

Re: Fancy Pants for the win!
There should be an option to turn off automatic wardrobe switches. Hopefully they put it in someday. I was actually disappointed at this too because sometime I want to run around in diplo or whatever other clothing set and it won't let me as soon as I hit any kind of random action like sprint or call my horse it counts it as an adventuring action.
Ps. Doddy's avatar is cracking me up. Because it's Doddy... and.. the portrait... I never thought an old BGII portrait would be so fitting for anyone. |

Re: Fancy Pants for the win!
I suppose if you look at it that way, some people won't want that feature as it 'distorts' their gameplay. I understand that, but for those who find searching inventory bags for just a single item a pain, this is a lifesaver. Sorry!

Re: Fancy Pants for the win!
When I saw it, I just knew that I had to have that as my avatar. It was just so 'me'.
