Re: Fancy Pants for the win!
On a more serious note, I played an MMOG a while ago where the first cool drop I got was called 'Woolen Pantaloons of Style'
They were bright pink, and gave me a bonus to my bargaining skill. I loved those pants. But I'm one to ignore bonuses on gear if I like or dislike the look. I think the point of gear for the various spheres is not be able to change at the drop of a hat. You're supposed to dress for the occasion. ie: in this dungeon crawl I will be playing the diplomat, thus will leave my adventuring gear with the horses. I don't think the plan is to be carrying gear and switching between fights and talking, or whatever. |

Re: Fancy Pants for the win!
Aye I recall a comment by one of the devs that inventory management is going to be just as important as the skills themselves. I just hope they have a way to quickly swap gear sets on and off so its not a tedious click fest to switch spheres.

Re: Fancy Pants for the win!
It's nice to see that the smilies have returned from Vacation.
As far as Sphere's go... I think I'll go Adventure > Crafting > Diplomacy > Harvesting It's a toss up for me... I think Diplomacy could be as fun as Crafting... but we'll see. ![]() Last edited by Malkius : 07-07-2005 at 03:47 PM. |

Re: Fancy Pants for the win!
I really cant tell what my order of interest is going to be at the moment. They all sound very fun and seem to have a ton of potential. I dont think Adventuring will be in last place but it might slip to second behind crafting if crafting is done right.

Re: Fancy Pants for the win!
Something I read lead me to believe mules or horses will be obtained early on to help manage our inventories. I don't think wagons will come in until crafters get up to speed. Won't it be interesting if in the beginning we're basically forced to specialize due to lack of inventory room?
I'm a dabbler at heart myself - though I usually end up focusing on a couple of things I'm (as my guy puts it) easily distracted I primarily see myself working Diplomacy, Crafting, Adventuring, then Harvesting right now but that will probably all change.I'm hoping gear changes are handled at both the macro and micro level. In other words some method to swap everything out fast but also the ability to take a hit on your skills by mixing and matching. Cause if your not dungeon crawling and just scrounging for basic quality resources to make lets say hinges (assume they will be needed for houses for example) you might want to leave on some armor to handle the unexpected roaming attack. I can see the same situation for diplomacy - there are some parts of most towns where you wouldn't want to go without some basic protections. |

Re: Fancy Pants for the win!
Yes full and partial sphere shift macros would be nice to have. It will be interesting to see just how much capacity horses have. We might not even be able to carry a full suit of gear for two spheres at once.

That couldn't possibly be true if we didn't have enough space on mounts to carry at least one extra set of armor. |
