Hmmmmmmmm. Diplomacy in the PVP arena you say? My guess is that it would go something like this.

<Puff of green smoke dissolving to reveal a scene from the game>

LilUberBro12: wut u doin out here this b leetdoodz gild teritorie!!!!!!!111

Ambassador Chatsworth Ellington III: Pardon me my good man, I had no intention of trespassing
on thine land. I have very important business with the King in the castle on yonder hill. Would thoust
care to accompany me on my journey?

LilUberBro12: um...wut?????????

Ambassador Chatsworth Ellington III: <Points to castle> I'm going to yonder castle to negotiate
a very important peace treaty with the King. Would you care to come along?

LilUberBro12: y wud i want 2 watch u talk 2 a npc ??????//??

Ambassador Chatsworth Ellington III: <Sighs> Why indeed. Well I'll just be on my way then.
Good day to you sir.

LilUberBro12: ware did u get that robe ur wareing???????????

Ambassador Chatsworth Ellington III: Ah my robe. Yes it is quite becoming isn't it? I procured this
fine garment with the proceeds gained from a particularly difficult, yet ultimately rewarding trade deal
I brokered between two fine cities. It's not often that you see a robe of such fine quality and deep,
rich color. I particularly like the gold trim and the--

LilUberBro12: OMFG STFU!!!!!!!!!1111111 u noe wut???????? now u wil die and i wil just

Ambassdor Chatsworth Ellington III: There is certainly no need for violence sir!

LilUberBro12: DYE!!!!!!!111111 <Lunges forward>

You attempt to strike Chatsworth Ellington III with your sword but he talks you out of it!

LilUBerBro12: wtf wut hapend?????????????????? <Swings Sword>

You draw back your sword as if to strike Chatsworth Ellington III but you realize he is a well connected,
highly respected diplomat. You stop in mid-swing!

LilUberBro12: y i cant hit u with sord??????????????? <Puts sword away and draws war

You raise your hammer in a threatening manner at Chatsworth Ellington III but it suddenly dawns
on you that pummeling an important diplomat could have severe consequences. You decide not to strike!

LilUberBro12: OMGWTFBBQ this dont make no sence!!!!11 my attak buton it b defective!!!!!!!1

Ambassador Chatsworth Ellington III: You are wise to have second thoughts about attacking me sir.
I am afterall a very seasoned, very senior diplomat in service to the King. Now if you will excuse me I will

LilUberBro12: wtf?????

I was already laughing till I got to this line: "wtf y u talk so retarted??????????!!!!!11111"

I need a sponge bath now.

Re: A funny Repost off the OVF about Diplomacy

Tact has had this in their humor section for quite some time, but that doesn't make it any less funny.

I'd like to see diplomacy duels. It looks like there's some kind of mini-game component to it - there's probably no reason why it couldn't be set to use the same rules against players.

Full-on PVP doesn't make sense, though.

Sad but all to often realistic view at MMO player communication skills.

"U loan me 2G?"

"No, sorry"

"Y, i axed nice"

"Because you axed at all"

When approached like that by uberboy12 in MMO's I respond to them always like Ambassador Ellington III but the nature of it depends on my mood, sometimes I'm helpful other times I will throw them for a loop.

I demand Mediator stlye diplomacy attacks.

Invitation: Charms target.
Persuade: Target is unable to target you for X seconds.
Praise: Lowers DEF, increases ATK.
Threaten: Lowers ATK, increases DEF.
Preach: Increases WIS, lowers INT.
Solution: Increases INT, lowers WIS.
Death Sentence: Makes target KOS to everything for X seconds.
Negotiate: Target gives you a small amount of money.
Insult: Target becomes enraged for X seconds.
Mimic Daravon: Target(s) fall asleep or become confused for X seconds.

Screw balance, make it so!

Re: A funny Repost off the OVF about Diplomacy

Coinspinner is that from another game, great idea though I like it alot. I can see some robe putting out a death sentence on a mob, might cause issues if mobs are pathing out of their normal routes to attack the guy tho.

It would certianly add new depth to PvP if it does play into that part of the game.

I fixed the image, RPGamer doesn't like me stealing from them I guess.

It's from Final Fantasy Tactics. And just like FFT, you should be able to resist the abilities using the Finger Guard skill!
