On a side note, I have used both Intel and AMD and I have found no particular preference for either. I find they both have their ups and downs so which ever one I get won't really matter to myself, as long as the rest of the parts work with it.
For now, I think I want to go with an AMD. As far as the vid card, I am going to prolly go with what you suggested because at this point anything is better than what I have (Intel Integrated Graphics....pleh  )
