Dangers of harvesting

An interesting aspect of harvesting that was brought up by Brad at Fanguard was the dangers of harvesting. An example he used was if you're in a group in a dungeon, and come across a mithril (I think that's what it was) vein, a good way to go about it would be to have two people mine, and three people stand guard. When further questioned as to why party members would need to guard, he stated that if you come across something as rare as mithril, you should expect it to trigger some sort of event (creeps spawning, etc.) when tapped. I think it brings a new and welcome dynamic to harvesting. Although some may say one can reach level 50 in any sphere without worrying about the other two, this goes to show that doing such a thing would definately hinder whatever sphere you're trying to master first. Based on this, I still consider harvesting/diplomacy as "secondary" spheres. Discuss!
