Buried alive!

Theres so much new information coming out in the various Fanguard reports that its hard to keep up. Havelock and Lady Sirse have posted writeups over at Silky Venom this morning. Havelock let us know that light levels at night are dependant on which phase the moon is in. He also had more information about the Travel Journal which sounds very appealing. We also got early warning that trains will be possible in Vanguard which should increase the feeling of danger lost in many of the second generation MMOs.

Natalia also put up a nice writeup over at Vanguardcasters.net. Head on over and give it a look. The site looks great btw!

Doug Cronkhite posted some additional information about the summoner class being removed on the official vanguard forums.

It was also reported that the fellowship system will allow friends to sacrifice part of their experience to an offline comrade to prevent groups with differing playtime to keep relatively together as they level up. There's currently quite the outcry on the official forums about it in the Fanguard debriefing thread.

Another great feature explained this weekend was the Caravan. Apparently since Telon is so large the devs needed a solution to help group members stay together. With people logging in at different times that could really have put a crimp on adventuring. Enter the caravan. Offline members of the caravan will travel with the online members and when they log in they will log in either right with the rest of the caravan or in close proximity. This is a great feature long needed in MMOs.

Finally it has been confirmed that 10 beta 1 slots were awarded to attendees as well as an ATI X850, 2 ATI X700s, several Creative soundcards and some signed artwork. All attendees who didnt win a beta 1 slot were awarded a beta 2 slot. Congratulations to everyone who attended!
