I missed out on housing since I had to go inactive in March (son was born
) and only returned at the end of Oct.
By then, all or a majority of plots I've seen were purchased.
My main is still only 38 so I have not seen all of the world. I have read talk (or rather INFERRED) on Test forums that they are adding housing 'islands' - I much prefer overland feeling 'immersed' in the world areas, but at this point I have to assume I am a beggar that can't be a chooser ;P
I am not wealthy, my char has about 30-40g and that is basically due to never buying anything for him - just questing/hunting. (I bought the Shadowhound mount, before that I still was using a T1 horse with tin horseshoes. Still using enchanted tin horseshoes now...made by myself ;P)
So, I have a couple questions:
1. Currently, as it stands, what areas are 'good' for homes? I am a crafter wannabe with a 23 BS(A), 13 BS(W), 11 Art(W), 5 Out(?). I assume 'good' means central-location to commonly visited areas/rifts or central to areas one would want to xp/grind/quest at the upper levels (since lower levels pass by faster)
2. When these Islands are released (I still don't have a boat), are they all in the same area (an archipelago of sorts? or spread around? Also - are any of them better that others for proximity to the places Ive seen talked about for higher lvls like RI, PoA, APW etc?
3. What is the advantage of the islands, if any? I can only imagine them being 'blah' since no longer attached to the mainland and feel 'arbitrary' or more 'fake'/isolated
4. I imagine there will be a land rush unless they are bad - where would I need to be to join in ;P ? (I wish I could wait for ppl to give up plots in old areas near high level areas to change to islands but that's too risky, I could again end up with nothing.
5. What are the pricing tiers anyhow on current (and island if diff and anyone knows how so) plot rents? I hear rent is weekly so it sounds like there is alot of time investment required for a plot to stay above water
What is determinant on price? location or what can be built on it, a combo of that or what exactly?
