Best advice is to upgrade your gear on every single chance you have, either investing time on quest (group quests too) and on broker.
Im level 24, lesser giant, i have good gear for a solo and pick up groups person, nothing close to the static group warriors that are around. I have a couple of lvl 30 shortsword of striking (25DPS) and i usually solo doublewielding them.
On this setup, i can solo 3 dot even cons (granted i dont get adds) or one level above if i use racial, fights are close calls, and if i get to miss the -myrdidonian kick- i get into serious trouble, but for a class that usually relays on a group, this is an alternative.
