Reward vs risk!
I been doing Wardship quest to get new armor and weapon + what ever side quest can offer. The quest part is long and requestion alot of faction, its not to bad, well its bad only if you evil race i presume.
The reward for a DK look like a bit light, when i check the amount of work vs what i will get eventully its not worth the work, but what else can you do if you don't have the cash or a sugar momy to pay for hand made top quality armor+weapon???
i have read most i have can find about this quest and other's of my level. In most case it require great amount of time to get the items require to get the quest done. Fine life is not easy and i didn't play to have it easy, but i expect to have some reward that will give me something worth it.
Look at the long sword lv 40 from the quest, 33+dps + some stat, at lv 31 or 32 i get my Service Axe from South Watch missive that give me same dps +hp and some dex bonus. It was a quest i was able to solo, not even close to the amount of work i have to invest to get the faction for Wardship (and here i have no reward yet).
Then when you ready to be able to do armor turn (first tier) you still need to get 3 component and the piece of armor, all of those will prolly be random over the group. Then look for the rare item for last tier armor, you end up level 40-42 and you finish the quest with under par armor/weapon for your level.
I know that the increase in experience have srew up the quest implemented in the game. You no longer have the good rythm so you can finish very long quest chain. This not a player problem, both more a vision issue from Sigil when they descided to increase the amount of exp player get.
What is needed is to increase the stat of the epic long quest to be on par for the level of time/dificultie encounter to finish them. If that can't be done, at least increase drop of candle, tome, rune and armor part. Make it possible to finish it a little bit faster so you can have descent armor for your level.
Player crafted armor and weapon of same level are usully better and require only to grind for money instead of faction. This should be seriously rethinked.
I have started the Pantheon quest to get those nice red weapon (45 dps long sword or 66 dps 2h axe). I have half done and it was in my begining of the 30', but was not able to get group again to finish it. Not to mention that the place/NPC quest giver are bugged as hell.
You see those weapons are very nice, you prolly can keep them until mid 40 before you need to change it or finish another quest like arena master to get the 2 h axe to up grade the one from Pantheon.
Quest reward are not balanced, sometime you can get awsome item at lower level for less work as long you can gather a group to finish them (ref. Pantheon weapon quest). In others case (Wardhip) you need to work very long to get your reward.
I know that Pantheon is random drop for weapon, still you can do it 2-3 times and get what you need and got great experience reward with average difficultie when you know excalty what to do.
So far what i can see from my 37 level of exping in VG (+28 Shm, 16 Rng, 14 Psi, 9 Bard and many others toon's), the reward vs rick is not well done. It's more a question of knowing where the best quest/zone to have better reward then the doing epic long quest.
I really think this should be looked more closely before everyone stop doing epic quest and do easyer content that will prolly be faster. This will remove alot of the immersion a good quest can give.
