These boards are for more than just bitching at the devs. As those before me have pretty much stated, they're a place where tanks can come and share info and experiences. Vanguard is still in it's infancy, we really don't know all there is to know about the workings of the game from a tanking perspective, and if this site were to close, we'd have nowhere to go.

Having survived the suck-fest of Wow and the official Blizzard Boards, I think we see a helluva lot less trolls and general infantile ass-hatedness here. Would it be nice if the Devs visited/posted a little more, sure, but all in all any place where tanks can get together and talk without animosity (I'm talkin' to you you wimpy Paladins!) (jk) that's a good site. Also any site where tanks can come and discuss tank issues without the random 13 year old mage posting "use guyz suxxor" /shrug I think that's a good thing too.
