It's cast on the mob and lowers his aggression toward the psion approximately 550 hate according to the psion.

And this is why I dislike not doing everything myself......the psion never told me his spell was targettable or I would have told him he was using it wrong.
Mind wipe works great. He wasn't targetting himself he was targetting the mob with no defensive target chosen. It lowers any target's hate by 550 and the next level is 750 I think.
This spell is rediculously nice. If you could convince a psion to stop nuking and pass this around a little to the people you don't want grabbing aggro you would have zero problems.
I wonder if it's targettable out of group.....that would be an annoying griefing spell to have a psion lowering aggro on the tank of another group.
Also, the problem with the paladin spell smite and their DOT which I don't recall the name of; it doesn't appear that it's necessarily lowering aggro rather than increasing it. What it looks like is that those two spells are not placing the mob fully in combat properly. Harder to see on the aggressive mobs, but if you cast smite on a yellow non aggressive mob it won't turn red. It charges you yellow, then goes red when it gets to you or at least after a few seconds after it was initially tagged. If I cast torture or any other spell on a mob like that the mob's aggression circle and name turns red right away.
