Aradune has reappeared on the official vanguard forums after being absent for a few weeks. One of the more interesting threads he responded to was one regarding teleportation. As many have lamented elsewhere on the 'net, instant teleportation around the world tends to make that world feel small and not at all epic. Vanguard has gone on record as saying they arent fans of instant teleportation but recognize its necessary in some limited areas. Here's the full quote from Aradune. The full thread can be found

That said, as with many of our ideas, we have a Plan B. If in beta we can't make some of our ideas work, we have other mechanics we can implement. With travel in particular, if it truly becomes necessary, we'd likely implement limited teleportation to specific points and require the player to have at least traveled to the destination point once without being teleported.
Please don't read into this more than what I am saying -- we remain confident our travel ideas will work. Again, I'm just being straight up with you guys and letting you know that we have fall back plans. I think admitting to plan b's is a sign of experience... not just experience on how to do things right, but also recognition that we're not perfect, errors will be made. Wisdom therefore dictates we shouldn't be arrogant... we shouldn't be so married to an idea or dream that we don't have contingency plans.

Additionally Elidroth
clarified some common misconceptions about the paladin class...

All 4 of the protective fighters do their primary role equally well, however it's HOW they perform this role that makes the flavors different. Secondary roles also provide a great deal of flexibility in playstyle for players as do your other non-primary role abilities.
I've said this before.. you guys need to get the EQ model out of your head to a large extent, as we're taking new approaches to the old standards. I think you'll be pleased.
