Those only work if you are level 10+, and have the Shadow Step and Harrow abilities.
For the defensive macro try switching the order of wear shield and wear sword. If that doesn't work you can do what Xacies noted in his post above mine and list:
/wear "[1h weapon]" primaryhand
/wear "[shield]" secondaryhand
