Personally, I absolutely love it. It takes some practice and probably some key mapping changes as well, but once you've got it all down its very easy to pull off. It keeps things interesting for me, and makes it so the game isn't simply about mashing buttons, it actually takes some player skill to pull off well.
To get the most use out of it, this is what I do:
1. Key binding: set a button on my mouse to activate my finisher.
2. Back pedal about 1.5 steps before activating the ability, this will keep the mob in melee in range for the others, so long as they know to be close when I start using it.
3. Activate leap attack, continue pressing the backwards button.
4. Land right in front of mob, ready to use a chain normally. I rarely over leap, and when I do, it isn't by a very much. I can reposition quickly enough that it isn't an issue, and because my finisher is on my mouse, I can turn and use it immediately.
