I believe racial stat modifiers will have an effect on the endgame. If I read correctly, the racial modifiers will not simply be an initial bonus to a particular modifer, but rather a modified maximum value. Such that a race with somewhat lesser strength at first level will never be able to achieve the strength of a race which started out higher. There is a possibility I misunderstood the statement of course, so try not to worry too much. At least race selection at creation will actually have meaning. I remember race selection in EQ became irrelevant right about level twenty.
