Minds made up

Well, I was leaning towards a Vulmane Ranger for the past 2 plus years, but a combination of:

1) Orc screenshots
2) Dread Knight descriptions
3) Lack of (so far) ranger as a playable class for Vulmanes
4) Playing an SK recently on SoD (I know DK != SK )
5) My overall affection for tanking "hybrids" (Love the eq SK and while playing DAoC loved my Thane)

I've come to the conclusion that playing an Orc Dread Knight is for me. So hello folks, I'm here to make my introduction to the DK comunity. Some of you may know me from my posts on the OVF, where I post as Viss Dalkyr. I played EQ for 5+ years starting in June of 2000. I was a barbarian warrior for the majority of that time, playing one of my guilds main tanks. I tanked until we broke into PoTime, then I hung up my sword and concentrated on my BEastlord alt. Had a blast on him until I finally gave up EQ altogether. I also played an SK alt, that I loved during that time.

When DAoC launched I played that for 6 months along with EQ. Played a Thane on the Lancelot server. Once again the spellcasting tank was a blast.

Played WoW for 6 months and that long only for guild connections, Really hated that game and it's "community". Wont go into a bashing rant here, suffice to say I no longer play that game.

For now I'm passing time with my guildmates on the Shards Of Dalaya server where I'm playing an Iksar Shadowknight named Garmr. If your also passing time there, dont hesitate to say "hey".

I'm in the pre-release guild <Resolute Honor>, you may or may not have seen the post on Silky Venom's guild list or the OVF. Guild was created by Mackentod specifically for Vanguard just about a year ago and I gotta say it's better everyday. Made up of a more mature crowd of hardcore/raider types of the past that now have more RL responsibilities (jobs, families etc.) and so cant raid or game quite like we used to. Though we do plan on raiding and getting to the end game, we understand and plan to take our time about it and enjoy every level of the game on the trip there. Definitly one pre-release guild that will be around for a long time to come.

So, glad to make your aquaintance, look forward to seeing an active Dread Knight community here and in game. If my description of <Resolute Honor> happened to pique your interest, feel free to click my sig and check us out and stop by the forums to say hey.
