Some of you already know I am a grindaholic. I just love to grind. However, this article hits home on how the grind may change for many gamers when Vanguard comes out.

I remember seeing a short video of some of the developers discussing the disadvantages of grinding past content in Vanguard (I'll try and find the link.) One of the main points that caught my attention and made me rethink of my old ways of grinding was that certain environments will provide rewards for adventurers if they are willing to put in the time.
For example, you and your group are in some deep woods and have just met up with a new type of gnoll you have not encountered before. One of their signature attacks is a low sweeping attack with their weapons and it has been putting a pretty hefty dent in your armor, because you aren't used to tanking those extremely low hits. After honing your skills and battling these beasts for days you have learned a new skill: a low blocking maneuver that could prove useful end-game.
If this is true, then grinding up past the low-level zones and into higher-level ones that wield tougher mobs and better loot will not be the best idea. This will promote adventurers to actually do their best to visit each region and see what they can learn from that region in order to recieve possible permanent effects on your character.
Now, I'm going to try and find that video so you guys will better understand what I am talking about. I'll be back later.
