A tank dual-wielding just sounds dumb.
Sorry to those who think it's more fun, I sincerely hope you absolutely NEED to use a shield in any major tanking role. Period.

Dual-wielding should be a light fighter's deal, and I'm glad it's going in that direction.

One replacement for a shield could be a large battle bracer, but it's basically a shield anyway. A parrying dagger will do absolutely zero against a warhammer.

But as for viability in using 2 weapons in full plate, yah sorry Fadeyn, shields weigh about double what a sword does...so it's not going to be any more difficult for him to put down the hunk of steel and picking up another sword.

But when it comes right down to it, until a tank proves to me personally that he can tank better with a 2H weapon, he will be using a shield in my groups. That obviously goes for me too, even though I would love to use a staff, I will not sacrifice tanking ability to be cool.
