Firstly, the idea that the universe actually cares about what you think is completely unfounded. It's not even conscious, let alone able to know your thoughts and adjusts itself according.

The principle of attraction is nonsense, because there has never been any correlation shown between what you want to happen and what actually does happen. Reality happens around you, not because of you.

Now, consider this law of attraction. What happens if someone is murdered? Are you going to tell me that this was because they were thinking of their own death? Is it the victim's fault, rather than that of the murderer? Surely you can't believe this, so why do you believe that good things happen because of what you think about, but not these bad things?

The only exception to this, where your thinking does work, is in the realm of personal achievement. You will be able to work better, or study better, or relate better, if you think positively. You will perform worse if you don't think you can do the task, and keep telling yourself that.

Face the hard facts. Things only come when you work for them. Of course, if you were also wishing for them, you could attribute the success to that - just as if the streetlights turn on before the sun goes down, you could attribute dusk to the streetlights.

But of course, you can't doubt this 'Secret' can you! If you do, then you will surely suffer bad things (or not get those good things), right? Doesn't this remind you of fundamentalist religion, where you can't doubt it or else you are in danger of hell?

Lastly, this is merely just a respun version (faster and happier) of the ancient Eastern principle of Karma. Nothing new here, move along.
It's definitely safe to say I disagree with you. Each to their own I guess.

BTW there are NO exceptions when it comes to the laws of the universe.
