I think the issue with these issues is, is that MMOs have to be very careful about bandwidth. Most games, like let's say a MMO like Lineage 2, only take note of mouse clicks, movements and ability activation- along with a bit of targetting and some rough critter AI. MMOs aren't really that simplified, but it's just an example. To keep bandwidth usage within a certain limit, it has to be like that (for the time being) until more people have connections comparable to T1, which will probably be 4-6 years from now.

They could, if they wanted to, probably program alot more depth into MMOs (arrow physics, no shooting through walls, advanced Far-Cry esque enemy AI etc) but they just won't be able to for a while.

Also, totally agree on the weight thing.
