I wonder if the Druid is meant to be more of a group support role. Buffing the tanks and melee DPS, that sort of thing. I haven't rolled a Druid yet, but that is the only reason I could see for this. If this were true though, then wouldn't they have classified Druid as a Defensive Caster? I have no clue.
Overall, I agree with you. Buffs should be appropriate to what your class is. This is the first time I have seen this brought up. Good point.
