Same here. If this is accurate... sheesh, I'm going to Fry's!

Sorry for the partial hijack Od - but I do have a related question. Do you hear weird noise-loops when you crash? Hubby often does; I usually don't (when I crash, I keep hearing the "ambient" sounds even though I know the game is gone). Hubby can pretty reliably cause a crash by heading too rapidly to the bridge by the Academy in Tursh, the one with the mage-chap blasting those poor imps every time they try to walk past. We've worked out it *seems* to be right where the rushing water sound effect starts to play.

Can this kind of thing really cause crashes? If so, is it still going to do that if we upgrade? (I know this probably doesn't have a definite answer, but I'm interested to know what more knowledgeable people think.)

As far as Od's original issue with discoveries -- is there a sound that plays when this happens that could be causing his problems? I've got low-qual sound and many fancinesses turned off, so just because I don't hear anything when I get em doesn't mean nothing is being played.
