Re: Money generation rate: too slow?
Its very well balanced between gaining XP and gaining gold!
I dont see why you should naturally gain a lot of gold AND XP while adventuring.. ( Hate those games where you always have too much gold and thers no point in buying and selling )
to me its like, if I want to gain levels then I must spend time to gain XP, if I want gold, then I must spend time doing gold-gaining activities, whilst understanding that im not leveling as quick!
If i want LOTS of gold then I must craft and harvest.. and not gain any XP at all!
Remember, when a crafter crafts.. he's not leveling, so if you are adventuring then your going to be able to farm gold easier than he is, and you will gain adventuring items which you can sell!
This is another aspect as well... Studying the market and selling at a profit, after adventuring STUDY CARFULLY the market value of the items you have, pick out the profitable ones and put it up for a good price.. even if its crap! - put it up for sale, you can sell anything if its the right price.
My auction log is ALWAYS full, if I dont have 10 items for sale when I log off then how can I expect to be richer when I log on again?
If you just look at the money gained on questing and adventuring, then NO, your NOT going to get rich.. but there are things you can do to maximise this, like carfull market use.
To sum up, Gold aquisition is balanced... but only if YOU balance it.
Im sure down the line people will make farming and money gaining guides, but at the moment most people are more concerned with leveling and exploring the game.
