Or is it just me? Since test is down I went back to my shammy on live. Lvl 18 rakurr shaman. Why is it that our pets are not smart enough to follow us defend us and defend themselves?

If I set the pet to follow me it will not defend me if I get attacked and I dont think it will defend itself. If I set it to defend me it will follow and attack what attacks me, but if I then send it to attack a mob I have to tell it defend me again after each fight.

Seems to me in other games I have played EQ1 for example, pets would follow you defend you and defend themsleves automatically. You dont have to retell them after each fight.

Why cant we have intelligent pets? Also why is it when told to defend you they have to stand virtually on top of you? Cant they have a heel position they return to after a fight without being right under your feet?

Also I noticed on my necro that the abomination would very often stay standing on the corpse of the mob just killed instead of moving off to its normal position. Really annoying having to back up all the time just to get the pet off the corpse so you can loot it.
