What I was noticing was that Artificer WOs could only be done by carpenters.
There are also Mineralogy WOs that cannot be done.
Example: Samkara in New Targonor, the Head Researcher for the Arcane Camarilla. She offers a work order called "Colorful Marbles" that is Very Easy to a lvl 25 crafter. On the description of the work order, it says that the skill used is Mineralogy. However, the work order cannot be completed by a mineralogist because it requires a knife, which we cannot equip. It also requires a tool I've never seen called, "Etching Measuring Stick." I actually tried to complete this work order, just to see if it was at all doable; it took 4 clicks of a high progress button on the first leg of the recipe to see 1% progress. To get 5% took half the AP.
My factions are fubar too, by the way. The one that really hurts is the hit to Thestran Artisans. Why they care whether or not a crafter messes with a trade organization is beyond me, but the hit hurts largely because I'm Kojani and I've done the continental style quest so that I can keep up with the tier quests on Thestra. For that I need Thestran Artisans faction.
Notes:
The taskmaster should not offer carpentry work orders to a mineralogist and vice versa.
Artificer work orders should be doable by any artificer, whether mineralogist or carpenter. The ones I investigated required knives and the mysterious "Etching Measuring Stick."
Mineralogy work orders should not require tools that a mineralogist can't equip.
No work order should require a tool that doesn't exist ("Etching Measuring Stick").
There should be equal numbers of work orders for each specialty. There are in some cases 3 times as many carpentry work orders as mineralogy.
Soulbound work order rewards should be equippable by the recipient. I received a soulbound knife for completing a work order for the NTTO. I cannot equip it.
Blacksmiths get easier work orders than artificers do (as in, the blacksmiths are offered work orders that are white to 25, while the artificers are offered work orders that are red and purple to 25). (No data yet on outfitters until Frerra moves her butt out of Southwatch or another 25+ outfitter tries these quests, sorry.) Please be fair and lower the difficulty of the artificer work orders.
That's all for now....
