Since im crazy and had plenty of room, i copied vanguard to another folder called vanguard_test. (please note that i dont think you have to do that but telling you exactly what i did just in case)

all of that in the one line. I also changed the start in folder to direct it to the folder i called vanguard_test.
Then i just clicked on my link and voila! i patched and then was running aroung on the test sergver, much to frerra's dismay ;P
Please also not that i install all my games in a different place than the default folder so make sure you change the line up there to point correctly to where your game was installed.

Thanks heaps for this and I will do exactly like you did lol. It was nice also meeting you in game and sorry if I sounded aloof but was being bombarded by tells from everyone and their mom too.
