Re: Future of the Guild interface

EQ2 was highly configurable. One might argue too much but from a programing stand point I would think (and could be wrong) that planing any configurations in for what level guild member can do what is about as challenging as placing a huge check box matrix to allow the leaders of the guild to choose themselves.

With that said, I'm a proponent to allowing end user configurations for guild privileges. There are officer notes I'd like to grant read only to but not read/write and I would like to dictate what level that would be at (elder as an example). An officer channel is helpful as well. As guild run housing pops up that'll be another lever to adjust.

It looks as if more reconfigurability is coming, I've seen many new levels have been added. currently they all seem to have the same privileges as "member" but I'd bet we'll see more in the future. The ability to invite at the lowest level but not kick or promote is another privilege I see useful.

As diverse as everyones needs, a priveldge matrix as we see in EQ2 would be good. Guild banks and guild dues automatically taken ever X amount ot time would help pay for guild events too.
