Well, I didn't want to steal Soulpainter's post, and I think that this is worthy of at least another padding post.
Everyone might have seen the lack of an issue of the News yesterday. It definately wasn't intentional.
December 22nd, we went to my brother and Sister-in-laws for Christmas dinner. It was a night of fun-filled laughing and present opening. We stuffed the children into the car, along with half the presents as we do every year, and drove out of town to my Brother's spacious house.
We ate until we were all stuffed to the gills, (as we do every year) and then made our way downstairs to the huge playroom where a big tree blinked and held a wealth of presents. (We spent upwards of a fortune on everyone this year.)
My boyfriend gasped and sighed, telling me that he had forgotten my present at home. I shrugged and nodded, said it wasn't going anywhere and never thought anything more about it.
We managed to get everyone home, a thick Ice fog made it hard to get home quickly. Once we got home, we let the kids open the rest of their presents, because we were going to be beyond hectic in the next couple days. We enjoyed watching their faces light up.. and then we shooed them up to bed. Our youngest brought her Dora the Explorer lunchkit with her.
My boyfriend brought out a huge box and offered it to me, wrapped in red paper. I could see why he didn't bring it, it was awkward and bulky. Opening it up, it was a foot spa.
I smiled and said "Thanks love", and leaned back in the big overstuffed chair that we have, trying to take my socks off. With a sore back, this is a chore. Suddenly he was on his knees helping me.. and I joked around with him that he only needed one knee. (I've been joking with him for years.. we've been together for 9 years.)
And then he agreed with me and pulled a beautiful engagement ring.
And, I said yes!
We spent most of yesterday with my family, and announced it as well. After the announcement, we spent a lot more time "mingling" with family then I thought, and ended up getting home very late.
I just wanted to share this with everyone!

I'm still floating above my footsteps.
Merry Christmas, Merry Yule, Happy Chanukeh, Merry holidays to everyone! I hope your holidays will be as special as mine.
