Re: PVPers don't lurk the forums?
Well, the main reason I just lurk is because whenever I'm on I'm ingame! I certainly understand where all of you are coming from for the pvp crazy people, but I just couldn't stand being stuck on a pve only server. Like Nihilum said, by choosing to go on one of those you lose out on such an enormous aspect of the game.
I can just imagine later in the game when everything has slowed down and is balanced, where there are huge guilds dedicated to policing pvp. Cities that players built from the ground up, something that we could actually call our own. Where there are assassin guilds and mercenaries and opportunities to truly create a realisitic immersive reality where anything is possible. Though it may be somewhat idealistic of me to think that way, if it does happen it would be wonderful. Though I understand people play these games as a way to escape reality, I want the games I play to emulate the flexability and resources life provides you. If I wanted to, I could walk down the street and punch someone in the face, or shoot them. But if I did I would be arrested and sent to jail. Though that is impossible with the mechanics in this game, you could still be 'punished' by the player base.
I have already seen some aspects of this happening, one guild whos members hang around starting areas and hunt griefers. Massive disrespect and almost universal KoS lists for people who gank crafters on a regular basis. If someday this game can expand on that, and more importantly the community that exists within it; definately the most vital aspect of any game and most importantly this one where they've tried to push the limits of what you could call a traditional mmorpg. If they could do all of this, which I personally believe is extremely possible, it would be the best experiance I could imagine.
