Hello! I am really looking forward to covering beta, launch, and beyond of Vanguard:SoH for Vanguard Spheres. There is so much that has yet to be discovered. It is really an exciting time for all of us who anxiously look forward to the upcoming months. As of this post there are only 167 shopping days until Christmas and with beta 0 being announced, beta 1 is quickly approaching!
About me. I played Everquest from December 2000 until I retired in January, 2005. The main reasons for my exit from Everquest was the lack of updating the game while releasing expansions that I felt were poorly coded and constructed, the instancing of The Plane of Time, and the terrible customer service. I had a 70 Enchanter on Veeshan (oops I mean Luclin!) my entire time. I never really had an alternate character as I really enjoyed the Enchanter class, however, I was able to 2-box a cleric if my guild needed me to.
I consider myself more of a hardcore type of gamer than a casual player. I understand a lot of the frustrations some players are having with the current lot of MMORPGs out on the market. I also understand how these new MMORPGs have added to the player base. Not everything about the newer MMORPGs is bad; in fact, I think they have done a lot of good as far as exposing people to the genre. That being said, there is so much more work that could be done in coding, graphics enhancement, and general game play.
I have followed a lot of the same forums as many of you have to include, but not limited to Sigil's Forums, Vanguard's Offcial Forums, Vanguard Saga Forums, The Fires of Heaven Forums, and the now infamous World of Warcraft forums.
There are so many topics I want to explore at Vanguard Spheres. Some of these areas include camping, instancing, trivial loot code, crowd control, class information, race information, and raid tools that will be implemented in Vanguard:SoH. Feel free to email me at
melchizedek@vanguardspheres.com.
I look forward to the days, weeks, months, and years ahead of us. Vanguard should give us one heck of a ride.
