How do grafts work - I presume you need to reacquire them each time you lose/dismiss the pet? anything else I need know?

You do not have to reacquire them every time you lose or dismiss the pet. How they work is you use the ability "Necropsy" (at least, I think that's what it's called...) on a corpse and you receive a random vendor item (such as broken bones, pulverized organs, etc) that sell for about 4 copper each or you get a graft. When you summon your Abomination, you'll see two things it can do: cast "Sneer" (which is the taunt) and a backpack icon for the grafts. Simply move the grafts from your inventory into the graft backpack and your Abomination is now grafted!
However, there are a few bugs with the graft system. Every time you cross a chunk line, sometimes after you dismiss and resummon your pet in the same chunk, and every time you log on and summon your pet you will need to remove the grafts from your pet and then put them back before they will work (the same bug exists with Sneer, except it will work when you first log on and you will need to resummon it every time you cross a chunk for Sneer to work again).
