3 yrs to get to 40??? What the hell was he smoking?

My first run on FFXI was a Monk/Sam and I didnt go the Sam part until WAY WAY late in game. I just stayed as a normal monk. None of the japanese players seemed to mind really. And none of the folk I met that were from the U.S. cared either. I always held it down as a good group player.
It should not have taken 3 yrs to get to 40 pfft :P

But I dont see Race/Class being a big deal in the long run. It typically isnt, just so people dont get into the Race X for Class Y etc etc that you mentioned. It gets annoying after a while.
