What does cool mean? It means cold. At some point in the past (early 50's) it entered the English vocabulary as slang and became so widely used that eventually it was added to the dictionary.
Many of these words likely will share the same fate, especially the word "Phat".

Well, It really isnt a point against my own argument.
However this really is not what I meant the conversation to be about. I was really referring to folks takeing a word like cool and re-spelling it like Kewl in what is essentually an attempt.... to be cool, I guess.
