Me personally I would just say "cool" instead of Phat or Kewl. Since cool is in the English Dictionary. Also, I would totally get it if someone told me that so and so was hot. Rather than Hawt.
But I get what you mean.
still yet..... I think I will stick to words that are
in the English Dictionary.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a massive fan of using these words but I do understand where people are coming from when they use them.
I guess it all comes down to what you are used too. For example some American slang I find incredibly hard to decipher as I am sure some Americans find it hard to decipher English slang.
