Totally agree!
I have a Norwegian friend that goes positively postal on people when they say "kk" instead of "ok" or "okay." It's rather funny actually.
I'm not sure why people do speak like that. Don't even get me started on the more advanced dialects of "leetspeak"

I am guilty of my own versions of shorthand ("ye" = "you" and "yer" = "your"), but I truly try to stay away from the examples you listed.
