The current system utilizes specializations instead of sub-classes. How it works is you will choose one of these crafting professions and will get access to a basic list of items. You then need to pick a type of product you want to specialize in to get the more advanced recipes. The plan is you get one specialization AND one general crafting profession. They decided to do this so crafters werent entirely dependant on other crafters for their subcomponents.
