Re: InGame Naming Policy

I concur with a naming policy...I don't agree that one will be enforced; haven't seen it happen yet through a half dozen or more mainstream mmorpgs (that had paid GMs on staff).

When the game launches, I will have decided on my primary class, drafted a brief biography, and have about 3-4 names chosen to run through in case they are taken when I try them.

That being said, I have been in beta, I have had the opportunity to see what kind of names are "normal" in what areas, so I have a reasonable chance to select something immerseful (is that a word?) What about the brand new players who have no idea what they are getting into? Sure, elves, dwarves, humans have a reasonable chance. But what about the animal races? Orcs, Goblins, Half-Giants? BTW, I would think Sparqs or whatever it was would fly as a Half-Giant.

Finally, in a way I can appreciate names like spongebob, inurface, irock, etc...BECAUSE they tell me exactly who to avoid like the plague!
