Not sure what you mean by so far ahead? Upon release, we'll all be in the same "newbie" position, starting over from level 1 and moving on from there.

Yes, some folks who have been in the beta versions will have some prior knowledge of layout and the like, but their beta characters will not be transferring over to the live servers. They too have to start out from the beginning again.

I'm sure there are those who will help, for starters you have the community here! We love to help, answer questions, give guidance. We will also have Vanguard devs coming by to answer pertinent questions regarding gameplay and other topics as well. Always feel free to ask questions.

To answer your question about small grouping at low levels, I do it all the time. I've been running through low level quests with my husband since we both got into beta. Can't do that so much now because he has discovered, and subsequently become addicted to, Diplomacy, and I fear I shall not see him in a group setting for some time.
