Another Fake interview.

Another fake interview By Rao:

Today I was able to enterview a generic mount who stepped out of his beta stall for a quick smoke break. I wasn't really stalking the Sigil studios. I just happened to be in the area. No really. I had an...umm Dentist appointment... Anyways onto the interview.

Rao:
How did you become a mount in Vanguard: Saga of Heroes?

Generic Horse: (referred to after this as GH)
Well I spent a while as a wire frame animation on one of the developer servers. They had this cheesy South Park'esk background for the longest time. Eventually someone threw together a skin that somewhat resembled an equine form. At first I looked like a mossy log with legs. It wasnt till recently that I was given this form you see now, which by the way I'm told will be upgraded once again before release.

Rao:
What do you see yourself as after launch?

GH:
Well the word around the stables is that some of us will become non-equine mounts, Ideas have been thrown around but nothing is in stone yet. I'm hoping for a large jungle cat form.

Rao:
Allot of folks on the OVF are worried about mount physics. There seems to be a lack of polish on graphics. For example mounts seem to turn sharply instead of in a curve at higher speeds, flying mounts seem to be stiff with just pivot points at the tales and shoulders, there isnt any dust poofs or dirt divots when galloping. Do you have any insight into any of these topics?

GH:
Well like I said mounts should be upgraded before launch. Hopefully mount physics ,as you put it, will be improved as well. This should help with the turning and dust/dirt effects. I'm not to sure about the flying mounts as they seem to think there better than us on the ground and refuse to talk to us.

Rao:
I see. The information we have so far indicates that we will have to "Upkeep" our ships and houses. What kinda upkeep will mounts need?

GH:
That hasnt totally been decided yet so I can't really comment on that.

Rao:
Will mounts be faster than bards in Vanguard?

GH:
I don't think anyone knows that. There is not allot of information about the bard class as of yet. Flying mounts should be faster than anything land bound however.

Rao:
Are you afraid you may just be used as a traveling bank? Characters just using you to hold all there harvested items, drops, crafting equipment, and all the gear changes needed for the three different spheres?

GH:
You know, I'm just here to help and have fun. If that means I'm only a pack mule so be it.

Rao:
Are you looking forward to mounted combat at all? If so will being weighed down by all that gear/loot effect your performance.

GH:
Yeah I'm looking forward to it. It should be a blast. I just hope they give me special abilities to deal with un-mounted mobs.

Rao:
Like?

GH:
Well I can bite and kick obviously but what about a power trample where I can bowl over a mob and then stomp on it. That would be a blast. Or what about a two legged back kick that sends the mob flying.

Rao:
Ok, I get it. What about being weighed down?

GH:
Hmm I haven't given that much thought.

Rao:
Well thanks for taking the time to talk to me. Do you have anything else you would like to say before I wrap this up?

GH:
Well I hope they add baking and brewwing to the game eventually. That way crafters can make better feed. The grass they give us tastes like wet sawdust.

Rao:
Hehe.. Ok. Well once again thank you for taking the time to talk to me.
