I still prefer level loss.
As far as solo vs grouping/raiding, let me interject an idea:
Having been a raid leader, I totally understand the concept of "fight what the leader says or we won't heal you!" I had some folks that constantly aggro'd other mobs and thought it was fun to keep people busy. Well, busy is one thing...a death wish is another. Depending on the type of mob, I would make decisions for off-tanking, rather than sticking with the mob at hand, and usually, I did that. However, sometimes, if we did that, it would pull the healing off of the main tanks and those assisting and could wipe the whole raid.
Moral: Better to lose one or 2 and concentrate on the whole.
Or take wizzies that loved to run off on their own during a raid/group and get lost and train everybody. (Why was it always female wizzies??) So, no! I don't like people not listening to the RL or even GL and "doing their own thing" during a group/raid.
I still don't know why the folks have voiced majority opinion about exp/level loss over debt only, yet the VSoH gang still wants to do the other. Maybe when we get there, it will be different than we think, but I really like the sting of the visual telling you that you've lost exp/level. It makes you think a lot harder about choices! They've said that skill/knowledge is going to be very important...not just what you wear or what level you are, so why not go the extra mile and drive it home?
ok, so there's my 2cp
